The shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado touched us all. As a community and nation, we were in shock or disbelief that such a senseless act could take place in our community. In 2010, Terracare Associates was recognized by the Columbine Memorial Foundation for our volunteer work to provide maintenance service and expertise for the Columbine Memorial. We view our participation in this project honorably and understand the important role we play in contributing to the memory that this project represents.
Clement Park in Jefferson County, Colorado became the site of a permanent public memorial, a memorial that would serve to honor the innocent victims but also provide a historic record of this tragedy and to deliver a message of hope for many generations to come. The yearly maintenance of the memorial is substantial and has been difficult for the foundation to raise funds for year after year. Previously they relied completely on volunteers to assist in all maintenance related projects. Our donation to maintain the memorial has been a huge burden lifted from the foundation, and one that we are proud to donate. In line with our core values to become intimately involved in the communities we work, live, and play in, this opportunity is a perfect fit for us as well as the community.
